What are Krumballs Protein Balls?

Krumballs Protein balls are high protein low sugar healthy snack food. They’re 100% natural, gluten free, NON GMO, soy free, and contain no artificial sweeteners or additives.

What makes Krumballs different from all the other protein balls out there?

Our Krumballs were made to be the most delicious and healthiest protein balls in Australia; that are high in protein, a good source of fibre and low in carbohydrates. They contain little to no sugar, contain no soy, no artificial flavours, sweeteners or additives, no polyglycerols and taste like a naughty treat!

We’re proud to say that our Krumballs are the only protein balls on the Australian market that we know of that can make this claim.

Are Krumballs healthy compared to other brands?

Absolutely!! We got fed up seeing snacks in the market branding themselves as healthy, and then containing more sugar than 2 donuts. So we decided to do something about it.

We believe we are a healthier choice than many if not all of the brands we’ve come across. You just have to look at the back of our package and compare.

Why are they healthier?

Many other protein balls on the market claim to be ‘healthy’ but have many, many hidden sugars. Even though they're labelled as Natural Sugars, Grape Juice Concentrate, Dates, Rice Malt Syrup, Brown Rice Syrup, Agave Nectar, Coconut Nectar, Fructose, Glucose and the list goes on and on, they are still full of sugar.

While there is no doubt, these hidden sugars are better alternatives to normal ‘white sugar’ at the end of the day our body recognises and stores sugar as sugar, regardless in whatever form it is.

Krumballs also don’t contain anything artificial, polyglycerols or added soy.

Why does that matter?

Basically, when your body digests excess amounts of sugar in any form (including things like dates, rice malt syrup, brown rice syrup etc). Depending on your lifestyle, you may or may not use all immediately available sugars. If you don’t use all the available energy after consuming food with high amounts of sugar in it, your body must then store the leftover energy somewhere – this is when sugar turns to fat.

Most often, it is stored as adipocytes, more commonly known as fat cells, around muscle, tissue and organs. Which leads to a lot of health problems such as diabetes and so on.

If your ‘healthy’ protein bar or ball's first or second ingredient is dates, put it down and walk away.

It’s a candy bar dressed in gym gear.

How many grams of sugar are there in Krumballs?

Due to extensive research and development, our Krumballs only have 1g of Sugar per packet (3 balls). Awesome right!?

When you want to compare other protein balls or bars with Krumballs, compare the ‘per 100g’ column to get the fair & accurate comparison. You will find that our Krumballs are higher in protein and are lower in sugars, carbs and fats than many products next to us on the shelves, while still not containing things like added soy and polyglycerols etc.

What’s so important about the percentage of sugar in protein balls?

If you look at the ‘per 100g panel’ of many other balls and bars in the ‘health food’ section, some of these products have as much or more sugar in them as two donuts or a Mcdonalds Hot Fudge Sundae. (If you don’t believe us turn over the packet!!).

To put that into day to day perspective, it would take approximately an 80kg person, running at a moderate to fast pace for 30-40 mintues to burn off the calories of just one of these small snacks.

When is the best time of day to eat Krumballs?
